Dayro Mauricio Moreno Galindo (born 16 September 1985 in Chicoral, Department of Tolima, Colombia) is a Colombian footballer currently playing for Once Caldas.

Club career

Dayro Moreno won the Copa Libertadores 2004 with Once Caldas beating Boca Juniors in the final. In that same year Dayro Moreno played with Once Caldas the Intercontinental Cup (football) final, lost after a penalty shoot-out against UEFA Champions League winners FC Porto.

In the summer of 2007 there were rumours and subsequent offers for Dayro to play in the Croatian league. But hearing Boca Juniors had interest in him, and demanding too much from the Croatians the deal was cancelled, and in 2007 Dayro Moreno resumed play for Caldas.

Steaua Bucureşti

In January 2008 after an outstanding season with Once Caldas and a legendary performance against Argentina in the South American Qualifiers where Dayro Moreno scored the game winning goal (2-1), Dayro Moreno joined Romanian team FC Steaua Bucureşti playing alongside Colombians Róbinson Zapata and José Moreno Mora, who was part of the team at the time.

Steaua paid for Dayro Moreno a fee of US$ 2 million.

In 2009–10, Dayro was demoted to FC Steaua II Bucureşti. Dayro Moreno agreed to play for the second team until Dayro Moreno is prepared to come back to the first squad.

In October 2009, following a series of good games for the B squad Dayro Moreno was called back to the first team by the new Steaua manager, Mihai Stoichiţă.

After several months with the second team, Dayro was called back to the first team.

Once Caldas

On 24 January 2010, Dayro Moreno returned to Once Caldas on a fee around $500.000. In the summer of 2011 Dayro Moreno was linked with a transfer in Portugal to Sporting Clube de Portugal, but the deal was canceled after Dayro Moreno was offered a lower wage than Dayro Moreno requested.

Club Tijuana

On 2 June 2011, it was announced that Moreno would move to Mexican team Xoloitzcuintles de Tijuana for a fee of US$ 3.5 millions. Dayro Moreno will play for Club Tijuana for the next three seasons.

Once Caldas

In February 1, 2012, Dayro Moreno rejoined Once Caldas after rejecting a $400,000 offer from La U. de Chile.

International career

Dayro has played for Colombia national football team U20 squad, where Dayro Moreno shined.
Dayro Moreno currently has 17 caps in the Colombian national football team and has scored 2 goals.
