Federico Fazio

Federico Julián Fazio (born 17 March 1987 in Buenos Aires) is an Argentina Association football who plays for Sevilla FC in the La Liga, usually as a Defender (association football) Centre back.

Club career

Fazio started Federico Fazio career in the Primera B Nacional with Ferro Carril Oeste in 2005. Federico Fazio was bought by Spain side Sevilla FC in late January 2007 and spent the vast majority of the remaining season with the second team, Sevilla Atlético, which Federico Fazio helped 2006–07 Segunda División B to the Segunda División.

In 2007–08 La Liga, Fazio started the season registered with both Sevilla teams. However, due to the absences of Javi Navarro (knee, entire season missed) and Julien Escudé (Pubis (bone), less than half of possible games), Federico Fazio ended up playing an important part on a side that reached a final UEFA Europa League 2008–09 UEFA Cup. Federico Fazio first game with the first team was on 25 August 2007, in the season opener, a 4–1 home La Liga win against Getafe CF.

On 7 May 2008, Fazio scored Federico Fazio first goal for Sevilla in a 3–0 win at Racing de Santander. Federico Fazio added another in that match, and a third a week later, in a 2–0 home success against Real Betis. In both games, Federico Fazio played as a Midfielder Defensive midfielder.

In 2008–09 La Liga, as Sevilla finished third, Fazio featured slightly less, and saw time at both positions. Federico Fazio was mostly injured during the 2009–10 La Liga, playing only ten league games (on 13 March 2010, Federico Fazio headed home in a 1–1 home draw against Deportivo de La Coruña); the Andalusians eventually finished fourth in the league, also 2009–10 Copa del Rey the Copa del Rey, but Federico Fazio was not picked for 2010 Copa del Rey Final itself.

Still bothered with some physical problems in 2010–11 La Liga, Fazio played the most Federico Fazio had in years, appearing in 19 games (17 starts) as Sevilla finished fifth and 2011–12 UEFA Europa League.

International career

Fazio was an integral part of the Argentina national under-20 football team that won the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup. The following year, Federico Fazio helped the Argentina Olympic football team Football at the 2008 Summer Olympics at the 2008 Summer Olympics, in Beijing. Federico Fazio played twice in the tournament, as backup for Nicolás Pareja and Ezequiel Garay.

On 1 June 2011, Fazio made Federico Fazio debut for Argentina national football team, appearing in a 1–4 Exhibition game defeat in Nigeria national football team.
