Fábio Henrique Simplício (born 23 September 1979) is a Brazilian Association football who plays for A.S. Roma in Italy, as a midfielder.

Fábio Henrique Simplício appeared in nearly 300 Serie A games for three different clubs, having played for nearly a decade in the country.

Club career

São Paulo / Move to Italy

Born in São Paulo, Simplício started Fábio Henrique Simplício career with hometown's São Paulo FC, going on to remain five years with the club, winning two Campeonato Paulista. In 2004, Fábio Henrique Simplício moved to Italy and signed for Parma F.C., after having been discovered by the club's director of football Arrigo Sacchi.

Simplício made Fábio Henrique Simplício Serie A debut on 22 September 2004 in a 1–2 home loss against Bologna F.C. 1909, one day shy of Fábio Henrique Simplício 25th birthday (16 minutes played), and finished 2004–05 Serie A with four goals in 34 games, bettering that total to ten in 2005–06 Serie A.


On 14 June 2006, Simplício was signed by fellow top-divisioner U.S. Città di Palermo, moving alongside Parma teammate Mark Bresciano. Fábio Henrique Simplício was priced at Euro7.1 million, with €4.6 million being to Parma.

During Fábio Henrique Simplício four-year spell with the Sicily club, Simplício never appeared in less than 27 league games, adding eight UEFA Europa League appearances in two separate seasons combined (two goals). In January 2010, Fábio Henrique Simplício agent Gilmar Rinaldi announced Fábio Henrique Simplício would not extend Fábio Henrique Simplício contract with Palermo, set to expire in June.


On 1 June 2010, Simplício joined A.S. Roma on a three-year contract worth €1.8m per season, effective as of 1 July. Fábio Henrique Simplício scored four league goals in 24 matches in 2010–11 Serie A, adding the 2–1 winner against S.S. Lazio for 2010–11 Coppa Italia's Coppa Italia as the Rome club reached the semifinals.

International career

On 17 November 2009, aged 30, Simplício gained Fábio Henrique Simplício first and only Cap (sport) for Brazil national football team, in a Exhibition game with Oman national football team. Fábio Henrique Simplício Substitute (association football) Felipe Melo in the second half of the 2–0 win.
